Simply the Best

Mom, I had a different kind of wet food this morning. It was so good and I ate it all up at one time and then ran all over the house in excitement. I told Grandma to give me the recipe for you and she did. There are lots of steps so pay attention. Here you go:

Day before:

Notice that all the Orijen cat treats are gone but there are lots of crumbs at the bottom of the bag. Save the bag for morning.

Morning:

Wake up early because I’m excited.

Stumble into kitchen.

Remember bag of crumbs and powder and flakes awaiting you in the cat bin.

Get bag, turn off house alarm on the way to kitchen just because.

Open bag and look inside. Not too closely. Try not to sneeze.

Go back to the feeding area and grab yesterday’s dirty dish.

Wash dish.

Get small pickle fork from drawer. Set aside.

Try to pour out all the particles into clean dish.

Spill some.

Get paper towel.

Wipe up spill.

Get hand vacuum from laundry room to vacuum some off floor.

Look inside bag to see that some bits are missed in the folds.

Get spoon.

Push the rest of the powder out of the bag into the dish. Put spoon aside.

Swear at the barking already at 7:00 AM from across the street. (this is vital)

Add hot water trying not to splash.

Splash.

Get paper towel, wipe up splash and swear a little more.

Smash and mix the water and powder together with fork and make a lovely, really wet paste.

Test food with finger so it isn’t too hot for me.

Don’t lick finger.

Walk the dish carefully over to my feeding area without spilling.

Spill.

Wipe with paper towel. Swearing not necessary but helpful.

Stand and watch me eat. Just saying.

Go back to the counter and make coffee. Instant because you’ve waited too long for it now and need to wake up.

Note: don’t stir coffee with same spoon next time.

Got it? It’s the best.

Love,

Uma
