Grandma's Garden

It's a good year so far for Grandma's vegetable garden, so we talked about it (She asked me to share space on my blog), and we decided to post a few pictures here. I think the reason her garden is growing so well is because she talks to the plants. She doesn't think I know, but if the window is open, I can hear her. She read that talking to plants makes them happy and helps them grow so she thought, "Why not?" But between you and me, she talks to them a little bit like she talks to me.

This is from the outside looking in, before things really got growing. Those buckets are going to have potatoes, and the fences now have sugar snap peas growing up the sides.

These are black beauty tomatoes growing!

Kale and cabbage!

These are some of the potatoes growing in buckets. There are eight buckets and these are just three of them. When the plants dry up, Grandma will pour out the dirt and there should be potatoes in the pile of dirt. She promised to take pictures. I might be back at the boat by then.

Grandma got some "yard art" and it greets here when she goes through the gate.

We are going to get lots of blueberries if the deer don't eat them first!

We really love watching the hummingbirds!

The hummingbirds love watching us too!
